( with ascendant still in the midst of renovations (and rebranding), kai has been busy with getting everything ready for its grand reopening. he just picked up some groceries to test out what he's gonna put on the menu when a striking streak of silver hair catches his attention outside of the pub. )

We're opening next Wednesday. You should come by if you get the chance.

[pietro hasn't had the opportunity to set foot in too many places outside of sokovia in the two plus decades he's been alive (hah—), at least not in the sense where he can just be in them, explore, and really take his time. it makes him feel incredibly out of sorts, not having to rush anywhere, not having his sister around as an anchor.

speeding his way around doesn't feel half as fun when he's feeling some kind of way (and no, he doesn't want to stop to think about what he feels). he's been meandering, and stopped in front of a pub that caught his eye. nothing much to see here, seeing how it's closed, so he's about to continue on his way when he hears someone talking.

to him? oh. he does a bit of a double take, his face expressive as if surprised it actually is him who is getting talked to.]

I have no idea what day it is today. How far away is that from now?

[if he looks confused (on top of sounding confused), it's because he mostly is.]

adjusting the large sacks in his arms, kai tilts his head thoughtfully. )

In four days? ( sounds about right. ) Did you just arrive by the latest Confluence?

[he can totally keep track of four days, but pietro figures the place will be open when it's open, and he can just make his way around these parts again.]

You do not sound very sure, but yeah. [a sniff] I just arrived.

[he eyes the bags the other man is carrying.]
