[that's... surprising, and pietro finds himself touched by the gesture. his name is not that fancy, not that important in the grand scheme of things; to have someone decide to name their child after him, then.

damn. wow.

he frowns and decidedly does not choke up a little at that.]

Huh. Sounds weird coming second to Nathaniel. Should be first name.

[y'all really thought him dead. he can't fault them.]

...I was told the Avengers are no more. Tony Stark is gone and Captain America is old. Is that true?

[redchaos]

[He's her twin. They've been apart for year, by her recollection, so she knows hearing that Clint named a child after him--even if just a middle name--does something. She gives his arm a little squeeze.]

Stark sacrificed himself and Steve is... complicated. But they're both gone, and the Avengers with them. At least as it used to be.

[If there's something new, something else, she doesn't know. And she doesn't check her texts.]

The last time I saw Clint was at Stark's funeral.

Stark did that...

[so it isn't untrue. pietro wonders, for although he was very much against the man, their truce came from a common enemy, and perhaps he would like to have seen how the man was in the flesh rather than behind the weapons he produced.

it's conflicted, how he feels, and it's a little hard to believe.]

You went to the funeral? Sounds a little crazy.

[did he have a funeral? he doesn't want to ask; it'll surely be upsetting to wanda.]

Too bad I cannot be part of the team that saves the world anymore. Made it too late to the party.

[he offers her a buttered roll to eat.]

Well. I wasn't in the front row.

[She stood back, next to the guy that killed Stark's parents. But Wanda was there as Tony died, and she felt sorrow--and then it broke her heart to know he left behind a little girl.

She takes the roll and begins to pick it apart as the kitchen cooks their dinner seemingly on its own.]

Be glad the world doesn't need saving right now. You've earned some peace and quiet, brother.

[he puts an arm around her shoulders and presses his forehead to her head. no matter how he looks at things, his own desires and wishes for what to do with his powers are years in the past; the world has moved on, has experienced too much, and pietro isn't sure how to pick up the pieces now.

his first and only goal was to find his sister.

now that he has, how much longer until he grows restless, as he's wont to do?]

I had plenty peace and quiet when I slept for many years. [not that it's undeserved; it's just...weird.] It is a normal life for us now. No Sokovia anymore, I was told. I ran into many people who spoke Sokovian across Europe though. It was nice.

[redchaos]

[He can't put an arm around her like that and not expect her to lean right into him. He'll have to get used to Wanda cuddling up at any given opportunity, needing to touch, needing to be near.]

Are you worried?

[She's not prodding her brother's mind. She doesn't tend to do that much these days, and never with people she loves.]

I know normal isn't a thing we've had for a very long time.

Truth be told... [he hums] A little worried.

We do not do normal, you and me.

[pulling back, he uses the arm around her shoulders to bring it close to her face, pull back some of her hair in a gentle way.]

But maybe it will be easy to learn to do it together.

[redchaos]

[Pietro does mean she might have to change her plans. She can't be a hermit when he'll go crazy out here.

But it's not like travel is an issue for either of them.]

If you end up not liking it out here, we can go somewhere else. Anywhere. I'll be happy as long as we're together, Pietro.

[margenes]

I just got here and you want to kick me out? I see how it is.

[he jests!!

pietro will be more than happy so long as anywhere it is they go is with his sister. 'home' is a concept lost to them, having not really had one since they lost their parents, and now without sokovia... well.]

Wherever we are, it is home for me. So long as we are together. Besides, this little magical cabin of yours is not too bad. Private pool out in the front, too.

[the lake...]

Cannot wait to try it out early in the morning.

[redchaos]

[There's so much she can say. A lot of emotional, sweet things, because she has the person she adores most back.

But she just gives him a very light, gentle nudge with her elbow.]

Pietro, that lake is freezing in the mornings. Your voice will go up several octaves and never go back down.

Not if I run super fast.

[there he goes again, cocky attitude in tow. wanda sure has missed this, hasn't she? he won't be jumping into lakes any time soon, though, so at least there's that.]

Also, tell me, are you just pretending to cook?

[all this magic around them!!]

[redchaos]

[There's a maybe less gentle nudge for all this sass.]

Pretending to cook? Cooking is happening. [She's just. Got it on auto pilot, essentially.] I'm not feeding your impatience, Pietro.

[margenes]

Does magic not do it all for you?

[he gets it, he gets it. ease off the sass. he just got here! can't have his sister get tired of him.]

Or do you put your brain ideas into your magic? How does it work?

[this is new for him okay]

[redchaos]

Something like that. It's not mindless. Distract me too much and you'll have jerky instead of steak for a meal.

[But it's really no effort on her part, even if it is her magic.]

HYDRA really had no idea what we were capable of.

[Which is probably for the best.]

[quickly, at that statement, pietro puts his hands to her face.]

Focus, Wanda! I really want steak.

[even if he does catch on that it doesn't take much effort from her part. it's just... nice, to get to be silly siblings after so, so long.

he lets go to grab the last of the bread rolls.]

I want to get stronger, too. And faster. We can both get better with our powers.

[redchaos]

[Wanda laughs.]

I am! I just told you so you know. You're going to have steak, calm down.

[She feels like she's laughed more with him now than she has in a long, long time.]

You won't be pushing yourself too hard too soon. You need to be mindful of what your body tells you. Okay?

[margenes]

I know, I know. Patience and all that.

[he jostles his head about as he concedes that she's right.]

You'll eat with me too, right?

[redchaos]

Did you think I was just going to watch you eat?

[Shut up she was totally going to do that.]

[margenes]

I didn't want to point it out because I am also skin and bones, but you are also a little too skinny.

[he pinches her arm]

I am going to look after you too. So, eat with me.

[redchaos]

[Depression is a hell of a terrible diet. Wanda stuffs some bread into her mouth, slowly swats at his hand, and leans into his side.]

Only if you promise to eat and then get some more rest.

[margenes]

[the moment he fINDS OUT ABOUT THIS... he's going to go full big brother mode on her.]

And my haircut?

[give him attention]

[redchaos]

[She wipes her hand before reading up to push her fingers through his unruly hair.]

Food. Haircut. Sleep. Better?

[She'll smother him.]

[margenes]

[smothering is fine.]

It sounds like a plan.

Will you watch me sleep? [he's trying to gauge his sister's state of mind through these questions about her schedule.] Or what do you say to a sleepover?

[redchaos]

[What schedule? Wanda smiles as she lets her fingers trail down his cheek.]

We can sleep in the same bed, like when we were little.

[In their small apartment, or in the orphanage, when there was a bed available to share.]

Except the beds here are much bigger and nicer.

[margenes]

I would like that, yes.

[just like the good old times. he really can't help but smile; after so, so long, getting to be with his sister is like a dream come true. there's a sense of completeness.

he holds her hand tightly.]
